Onboarding
Onboard new hires on WhatsApp, from day one.
New starters get a pile of documents on their first day and forget most of it by Friday. Break your onboarding pack into short lessons and quizzes that arrive in WhatsApp, and see who has completed each one.
- Your documentsPDF, Word, Excel, PowerPoint
- CompanionReads, summarises and drafts for your review
- WhatsAppLessons, quizzes and forms
- YouResults and requests
Upload a PDF, Word, Excel or PowerPoint file. Companion reads it and drafts the lesson or form for you to review.
How it works
- 1
Upload your onboarding pack
Handbook, safety rules, code of conduct, product basics. Each file is read, summarised and filed by type.
- 2
Create the first-week course
Draft short lessons and quizzes from the pack, review them, and publish.
- 3
Send it to new starters
A new hire joins through a WhatsApp invite and receives the lessons at the pace you choose.
- 4
Follow their progress
See who has finished each lesson and who needs a nudge before they are on the floor.
For your employees
- Short lessons instead of a thick handbook
- Quizzes that confirm they understood
- Answers to questions from your own documents, any time
For you
- A repeatable onboarding course you build once
- Completion per new hire
- Less repeated explaining by the team lead
- Employee 1Lesson 1Completed
- Employee 2Lesson 1In progress
- Employee 3Lesson 1Not started
A first-week onboarding checklist for frontline staff
Whatever tool you use, a good employee onboarding plan covers the same ground. Use this as a starting point and adapt it to your business.
- Before day one: confirm the contract, the schedule, who they report to and where to go on arrival.
- Day one: welcome, a tour, the people they will work with, safety rules and how to report a problem.
- First week: the five or six tasks they will do most, shown once and then tried with a colleague.
- Policies: the code of conduct, leave and absence rules, and who to ask when unsure.
- Check understanding: a short quiz after each topic, not a long exam at the end.
- End of week one: a conversation with the manager about what was unclear and what to repeat.
Questions
Can new hires ask questions during onboarding?
Yes. They can ask in the chat and get an answer from your uploaded documents, with the source named. If the documents do not cover it, it says so.
Do new hires need to be registered first?
Yes. People join by an invite you send, so Companion only answers approved numbers.
Can I reuse the same course for every branch?
Yes. A course lives in your library and can be assigned to different people.
